about humans.

I was feeling random and bored so i bought a couple of second-hand books at bras brasah 2 days ago after my visit to sweelee. this particular one is about the personal document of this great lady (Nien Cheng) whom went through the whole of China's Communist reform, and it focuses on the cultural revolution.

amazing lady, with a pretty capable husband.. she met his husband when he was working for his Ph D degree in london in 1935.

gosh.. a Ph D is the 30s.. now we know who Mao referred to when he brought up the term 'intellectuals'. studying for Ph D at that time is probably something like researching about rocket science now.. i think...

i remember China being my topic of interest when i studied history in 'O' levels, its always exciting to read stories about stuff like the long march, how mao deployed tactics to fight off the kuomingtang, how the communists eventually won and KMT had to flee to Taiwan... then there were also...

1. communist freaks whom dug tunnels with their bare hands.

2. communist freaks whom melted iron in their backyards hoping to earn some penny. (lots of artifacts which might possibly be worth millions of dollars in today's auctions were melted during the revolution.)

anyway, i personally think that Mao has got to be one of the most lengendary figures in China's 5000 years of history. yet the author wrote...

'' the emotion... generated in me was one of disgust and shame that such an act of barbarism against a fellow human being could have taken place in my beloved native land, with a history of five thousand years of civilization. As a Chinese, i felt degraded.''

whatever she wrote can be understood as she went through so much shit during that period of time. but ultimately, my point is this book shows only one side of the coin to a certain extent. its mostly a reflection of a strong headed woman whom had to endure a series of unfair treatment. (but bias stuff are always interesting to read)

today, a good percentage of the taiwan population believe they should be independent as a country.

i dont understand how this uncle above can be the president of a country. he speaks as though his tongue is stone-material. he smiles like an idiot but more importantly, there is a substantial amount of population in his country whom see him as a total joke.

i am one whom believe taiwan should reunite with china. reason being, I understand HISTORY.

ok, i am bored.
